One of the practices I have all of my clients do i One of the practices I have all of my clients do is to write down 3 new things before bed that they are grateful for. Sounds like an easy task until you try it. The hard part is the word β€œnew.”⁣

After a few days of the big things that come to mind, suddenly you have to start searching elsewhere for something new. And the delightful part is that throughout the day, knowing that you’ll have to come up with something later on, you start looking at everything through the lens of β€œIs there something about this that I am grateful for?”⁣

It’s a beautiful way to see things and appreciate even the tiny benefits that a person or object might bring.⁣
⁣
After doing this task before bed, soul searching for those feelings of gratitude, drifting off to sleep becomes much easier, and those positive thoughts seem to manifest in our dreams. I can’t guarantee that will happen for everyone, but my clients can back me up on this.⁣

I have a path I take in my tiny apartment that allows me to get all my steps in throughout the day without leaving the house.⁣

This was particularly useful during lockdown when I was in Spain where for quite awhile we weren’t allowed out of our homes.⁣
⁣
Nowadays, I do make a point to also do my walking outside, but if I want to stay in my jammies all day, I will.⁣
⁣
Aww, the joys of working from home.⁣
⁣
Here’s what I tell my coaching clients:⁣
⁣
Try to get up from the couch or your office chair and move for 5-10 minutes every hour or half hour. Hit the bathroom, refill your water bottle, look outside, stretch yourself, take the scenic route or the stairs. It will refresh your eyes, your mind and you will feel more focused when you go back to what you were doing.⁣
⁣
Easy pace, in whatever you happen to be wearing – you don’t even have to put on your shoes.⁣
⁣
I like to haveΒ a route planned, covering as much floor space as possible so my β€œlaps” are longer, and put in some challenges and obstacles along the way. This reel will show you some examples.⁣

You are only limited by your imagination.⁣

I’m certain it was divine intervention.⁣ ⁣ I I’m certain it was divine intervention.⁣
⁣
I had been in holiday mode - dining out and drinking wine or cider on most days. Accepting the sweet and starchy snacks that were forcefully offered, suggesting them myself and making poorer choices more frequently.⁣
⁣
The hotel we were staying in had a scale in the bathroom. Against my best advice, I pulled it out to see what kind of damage I’d done.⁣
⁣
The battery was dead.⁣
⁣
Thank God. I knew better. ⁣
⁣
I didn’t need a number on a scale to point out that my feet were puffy, that my sleep was fitful or that my pants were feeling tight.⁣
⁣
All the scale could have definitively given me was my current gravitational force at that moment - not what was fat or muscle or water or organs or bones. And I would have likely jumped to some conclusion or judgement about myself based on that digital display on the screen.⁣
⁣
Guilt. Shame. Embarrassment. ⁣
⁣
It didn’t matter what the number might have been. What DID matter wass that I was unsatisfied with my snacking and drinking habits, and the way I felt in my body as a result. ⁣
⁣
THAT was something I could actively do something about.⁣
⁣
I went back to the basics I teach in my Menopausal Health Reset. I listened to my own good advice.⁣
⁣
Making the effort to put my health first, I detoxed off the crap and wiped out the cravings in just a few days. Gradually my digestion normalized, my sleep improved and my clothes became looser again.⁣
⁣
Rebounding from a spiral can actually be an easy fix, but no change can happen unless you make it.⁣
⁣
