Affirmations are positive statements about how you want your life to be. Any negative thought or feeling can be transformed in to a positive affirmation. Be sure that your statements are always in the present tense, as in “I have” or “I am”, so your sub-conscious mind learns these as now truths, not something in the future. You are planting seeds in your mind, and by lovingly tending them, just like plants in your garden, they will grow and bloom.
Using affirmations can be as simple as looking in to your own eyes with a mirror, and saying the affirmations to yourself. You can say them quietly in your head, speak them out loud or even sing them, if you’re feeling like it. Repeat them often throughout the day and whenever you spot your reflection. You can also just repeat them in your head as you busy yourself – like on a walk, cleaning house, or driving to work.
The thoughts you choose to think create the experiences that you have. So, if you believe it is difficult to change a thought or habit, then that choice will make it true for you. However, if you chose to think “It is easy for me to make changes in my life,” then this choice will make it true for you. Your mind is a tool you can choose to use any way you wish. Let’s put it to good use.
To learn more about the power of affirmations, I highly recommend checking out the work of Louise Hay. Below are a few items of hers I have enjoyed from Amazon. I particularly like the audio versions that I can listen to on a walk or as I fall asleep.
