About Me

🎶🎶 “Here’s the story… 🎶🎶

🎶🎶 of the Health Coach lady…” 🎶🎶

Well, actually we will call this the most recent chapter of my story. My longer version of life as a sugar addict can be found HERE, and I would be honored if you would give it a read. On this page, I will share what got me passionate about what I do.

My name is Cherie Ó Liatháin. I know, I know, how do you pronounce THAT? Call me Cherie Ó. Think of Steve Perry singing “Oh Sherry” and then flip it.

We all enjoy seeing those Before and After pictures, so I created some of my own. Do you notice that when you are at your heaviest, you tend not to have photos of yourself or only ones where you are hiding behind someone else? That’s me. When you see my selfies all over Instagram, know too, that those come from a new place of being vulnerable, brave and daring. My second half of life is bringing out the person I’ve always wanted to be. (I think Brené Brown would be proud. 🧡😉)

Hawai’i – June 2011 and September 2012 (Age 44)

As I approached menopause at 47, I started to really gain weight again. Things that I tried before weren’t working. I read that with the estrogen decrease, weight gain was “inevitable”. I also watched my customers over the 20 years that I was a pharmacy technician, gradually decline as they aged. They would come in with a new prescription for this, another one for that – and growing frustrated that their life now required a pill minder. In my position there, under my license, I was not allowed to suggest that there might be a better option for them.

At that time, work was basically my life. I was good at it, I was paid and treated well, and I enjoyed helping people solve their problems – and each day was filled with many! As a divorced mom with grown kids, living on her own in a small rural town, I wondered if this was all my life was to be. Sure, I had friends and family around, but mostly I was a home body.

My entire world changed when I was struck by lightning in Ireland. Alright, not literally. On a trip I invited myself on, with what had to be Divine intervention, I found MY person and it was love at first sight. For both of us. Over the next years, I would leave my job, sell my home, and embark on a journey to far away lands. I traveled, learned, photographed, blogged, met wonderful people and enjoyed life my way. I was BRAVE, and discovered that I was capable of far more than I ever thought. I evolved in to the person I have always wanted to be – confident, strong and positive.

January 2018 and April 2020 (Age 51.5)

I enrolled in the Primal Health Coach Institute and got my certification, so that I could effectively help others. I got serious about my health and found the right formula to not only lose the weight I had gained, but to lose the sugar cravings that have plagued me my entire life. I call it Food Freedom – I’m no longer obsessed with the sweet and starchy foods, that previously would send me on an eating binge.

My mission is to empower women in this second half of life. Being “over the hill” does NOT mean that your life and health are destined to rapidly decline. Food and lifestyle changes are usually all that is necessary to slow aging, improve health issues, drop excess weight and regain vitality. It sounds too simple to be true, but people globally and of all ages are experiencing these health transformations. And most share the same sentiment, ” If only I had known this sooner.” My Smoother Health Coaching business is mobile, and allows me to help women all over the world who are fed up, and are not going to take this aging process lying down.

If you’ve gotten this far and can relate to my story, I would be honored to work with you on your health journey. It is hard to imagine that such simple changes can make all the difference, but it’s really just going back to basics. Our basics as human beings. Incredible transformations are possible when we let our bodies operate the way they’re designed to. I limit the number of clients I work with at once, so put in an application and I will let you know when an availability opens up.

Your best “second half” starts now. 🧡🥩💪🏼
